Dr. Anderson is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in South Carolina. A native of upstate New York, Dr. Anderson received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology and Methodology, Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology, and Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. During her tenure in the doctoral program, Dr. Anderson completed practicum experiences in elementary, middle and high schools and a residential facility for adults with developmental delays and cognitive impairments. Her American Psychological Association (APA) accredited pre-doctoral internship was completed through the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology at Boys Town in Boys Town, Nebraska. There she obtained experience working with adolescent females in a residential program with a focus on therapeutic interventions in the home and school settings. Following completion of her doctoral degree program, Dr. Anderson moved to Georgia where she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Savannah Child Study Center in Savannah, GA. There she conducted individual and group therapy, psychological evaluations, and parent consultation/training for clients ages 2 to 22 and their guardians. After earning her license to practice psychology in Georgia, Dr. Anderson practiced as a staff psychologist for 2 years before taking a position as a school psychologist in the Beaufort County Schools. Dr. Anderson went on to earn her license to practice as a psychologist in South Carolina and spent 9 years working part time in a private practice in Bluffton seeing children, adolescents, college students, and adults for psychological evaluations. Dr. Anderson took the Lead School Psychologist position for Beaufort County School District in 2015. While in this position, she had the opportunity to support and mentor early career psychologists, collaborate with other professionals in the district, coordinate the Section 504 program across the district, and supervise postdoctoral fellows, interns, and practicum students. Dr. Anderson opened Seagrass Psychoeducational Solutions (SPS) in October 2019 at which time she transitioned her part-time private practice to SPS while also continuing full-time practice with the school district. After 11 years with the district, Dr. Anderson decided to move to full-time private practice in June 2021 and currently works full-time with Seagrass Psychoeducational Solutions LLC as the principal psychologist.

Dr. Anderson’s specialty is psychological testing to gather data to understand presenting concerns, make a diagnosis (if applicable) and deliver recommendations to inform treatment and ultimately solutions.

Dr. Anderson also provides psychological testing for adults (college aged and up) focusing on evaluation of conditions such as AD/HD and determining differential diagnosis when other concerns may be present such as anxiety or depression.
Follow-up counseling services are available as needed/as available aligning with recommendations and needs identified through the evaluation process. Dr. Anderson has expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy in her work with youth and adults, but is not currently taking new counseling patients.
Dr. Anderson has also furthered her training and expertise by completing a week-long comprehensive training for the Orton-Gillingham method. This method includes multi-sensory experiences in reading instruction and is especially helpful/indicated for children with reading deficits and disorders such as dyslexia. Although she does not offer these services directly, her expertise in his methodology assist her in guiding parents with dyslexia interventions in the community.
On a more personal note, Dr. Anderson currently lives in Bluffton with her husband, two children and cat. She enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying our beautiful local beaches

**Sarah is taking new child and adult patients who have Medicaid plans (Healthy Connections Medicaid, First Choice by Select Health, Absolute Total Care, Molina) for assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders. **Sarah is not currently take new referrals for patients with Healthy Blue/Blue Choice and she is not in-network with Humana Medicaid.

**Madelyn is not currently accepting new referrals for counseling. Her services are in-network for United Healthcare and out-of-network (OON) with all other commercial insurance at this time, although she is applying for in-network status with numerous insurance companies. She will accept patients using OON benefits or private pay ($150 for the initial 90-minute diagnostic interview, $125 for ongoing 60-minute therapy sessions). Madelyn is a certified out of network provider with Tricare East.
Madelyn Bowman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in South Carolina. Madelyn received her Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Since graduate school, Madelyn has provided counseling services in middle and high schools in Tennessee, Colorado, and South Carolina.
Madelyn’s primary goal is to support children, adolescents, and young adults through the struggles of everyday life without judgment or shame. She draws upon multiple therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to address the individual mental health needs of each client. While Madelyn has provided support for a variety of issues, her specialties are depression, anxiety, executive functioning, and autism spectrum-related disorders.
Madelyn currently lives in Bluffton with her husband and daughter. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Madelyn is thrilled to expand her counseling practice to include school-based and community-based services.
**Sindy is currently accepting new referrals for counseling. Her services are in-network for Cigna and United Healthcare/Optum, and out-of-network (OON) with all other commercial insurance at this time, although she is applying for in-network status with numerous insurance companies including Medicaid. She will accept patients using OON benefits or self-pay ($165 for the initial 90-minute diagnostic interview, $125 for ongoing 60-minute therapy sessions). **Sindy is not currently accepting new patients with Cigna. Sindy is now a certified Tricare provider (out of network).
Synthia (“Sindy”) Hansen is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She received her bachelor’s in psychology from Southern Illinois University in 2002 and went on to complete a Master’s in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University in 2004.
Sindy started her career providing therapy to child and adult survivors of sexual abuse and violence. For the past 15 years, she has been working in community mental health center where she gained experience with a variety of other needs including anxiety, depression, other traumas, family stress/dynamics issues, adjustment difficulties, coping with chronic illness, mood disorders, and behavioral issues.
She is trained in play and art therapy techniques to help children process their trauma and move toward healing. She has also received training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the effects of trauma on development, anxiety disorders, attachment issues, and depression.
Sindy utilizes an eclectic and integrative approach to treatment. She believes in tailoring treatment to the individual needs and preferences of the client. She begins by taking the time to fully hear and understand the client’s and caregiver’s perspective, preferences, needs, and strengths. No two people are the same and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach in therapy. She will work together with the client to help find the solutions they need to either resolve the issue that brought them in, or help them to manage it better if it is not something to be solved.
Sindy and her family recently moved to Bluffton from their small family farm in southern Illinois. She enjoys the outdoors, running, biking, and painting.
**Laura is seeing patients at Seagrass while completing her LPC-A hours under the supervision of Evelina Fair, LPC-S. She is accepting new adolescent and adult patients for counseling sessions. Her services are private pay only ($125 for the initial 90-minute diagnostic interview, $100 for ongoing 60-minute therapy sessions).
Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Certified School Counselor in South Carolina. As a native of New Hampshire. Mrs. Mason received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from New England College. Followed by her Master’s degree in Counseling from Adams State University.
She has more than 13 years of experience as a Professional School Counselor, working with students ages 5-18 years. Her professional journey began at H. E McCracken Middle School, where she spent 4 years, then she moved to the north Atlanta area and took on a Elementary School Counselor position for three years at the International Charter School of Atlanta. This was followed by two years as a High School Counselor at Peachtree Ridge High School in GA.
Her husband’s job brought her and her family back to Bluffton in 2020 where she was re-hired at H.E. McCracken Middle School and just completed her third school year back. After returning to the Lowcountry, she began her journey to complete her Professional Licensed Counselor Certification. Her love for relationships and a deep desire to understand emotional processes and healing drew her to the helping profession. Laura has had a wealth of life experiences that provide her with an ability to understand common patterns which affect most people in their journeys.
Laura’s approach to therapy is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can address their mental health needs without judgment. Laura has experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral difficulty, and identity issues as well as improving family dynamics and helping individuals cope with life’s many stressors and difficulties. Therapy looks different for all individuals and her style is compassionate and responsive to each person’s unique needs.
Outside of school and her office, Laura and her husband live in Bluffton with their two children Dylan and Olivia, and two dogs Rocky and Fitzy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, biking, and relaxing at the beach and pool, along with dreaming about her next cruise destination.

Nicole Bossak is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate as well as a Professional School Counselor with more than 15 years of experience working with school age children and adolescents. Nicole holds a Master’s Degree in Licensed Professional Counseling and School Counseling from Long Island University in New York, a second Master’s Degree in School Administration from the Citadel in Charleston, SC, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from C.W. Post, Long Island University.
Nicole believes in a well rounded approach to therapy, empowering individuals and helping to better equip them with strategies to build positive change. As a school counselor, she has experience in working with children and their families to navigate through behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, social skills, divorce, military transition, emotional regulation, building mindset and coping skills. Nicole is also an Autism Certified Professional who is trained in providing social, emotional, behavioral and educational support to individuals with autism. She is also a certified youth yoga and mindfulness instructor which has benefitted her belief in a balanced approach to mental health. Through her experience with youth and adolescents, she has found passion in working with individuals to set and achieve goals while building self-esteem and confidence to overcome adversities they are facing. Nicole uses approaches rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, positive mindset, movement and play based modalities.
On a personal note, Nicole is originally from Long Island, NY, and has lived in Beaufort for more than a decade. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, practicing yoga, boating, being outdoors and traveling.
